Christmas 2022 (Texto en Español abajo)
Wrapping it up? no, not really.
Often that expression implies that someone is finishing an activity. They make sure that
everything comes together nicely, especially as the end of the year draws near and a new one is starting.
In missionary life, it rarely is the case that we “wrap things up”. It takes time to build trust, to establish rapport with church leaders in the community who will invite you to participate or be willing to listen as you share what you sense God is asking of you.
What we certainly know is that we can share the gift of Jesus, the
Savior from our sins, and even though it all takes time, we can do
it because every month we unwrap faithful gifts from you.

We are slowly building trust with university students.
Many come with stories of suffering, of sacrifice, of neglect.
They show up each week even if we offer a message that is counter
to the secular academic culture in which they study, and the
expectations placed upon them by faculty and family.
Little by little pastors are asking us to teach, whether it is a course on the Gifts of the Spirit, or Biblical theology, or how to apply a healthy biblical identity in a world where the enemy attacks the very core of who we are in Christ. In between, we are receiving invitations to speak on different issues that affect the church today.
We continue to dream and plan about helping get a new church started in the state of Hidalgo, and putting together medical outreaches where a church is established in an
unreached area.
We are hoping to see an APV girls and boys camp in each region of Mexico where young kids are taught Kingdom principles of how to live a life of value and respect- just like God sees them.
We are excited that a camp is being planned by Yucatecos in Yucatán for August of 2023.
There’s no wrapping up happening in the Kazim house. There is, however, a lot of thankfulness.
We are fully aware of the sacrificial giving that happens. May your gifts return to you tenfold.
We promise to send pictures and updates on our kids in our next letter. We are excited to spend Christmas with them, ALL of them, for the first time in a long time.
Have a blessed Christmas.

Cerrando con broche de oro? (no, ahorita, no)

SUMMER 2022
Broken… and Encouraged
Broken
—Because each day we are approached with stories of past abuse, with generational attempts to skew our true identity- that we are sons and daughters, priests, a chosen family of the Most High.
—Because there are almost 300,000 students enrolled in the UNAM (the largest university in Latin America and located in a city within Mexico City), and few workers who dedicate their time to pointing those students to Jesus.
—Because the state of Hidalgo, with over three million people, has few churches, many unreached areas, and towns with few or no Christ followers, all pointing toward the great need. Hidalgo has never had an AGWM missionary that has lived and worked there.
—Because people who do follow God sometimes experience storms and lose sight of the Spirit’s presence in their lives. We have been asked by our district to help provide soul care.
Encouraged
—Because pastors and leaders are burdened to walk with those who are victims of abuse. Just recently Sandy returned from a camp where many young women were shown just how much God loves, values, and gives them purpose and hope.

Over 300 young women at the APV camp in Baja California
—Because people are slowly responding and focusing on the need at the UNAM.
Mexico has a new missionary family who are heading up this ministry, Craig and Natalia Baumtrog. Every week we are on campus, slowly gaining the trust of students who are looking for purpose and hope for their lives. If you feel led to support the Baumtrogs, you may access their giving page through the missionary directory at agwm.org.

—Because we are meeting families and pastors who also share our desire to see more full time Kingdom Workers in Hidalgo. Would you pray with us? Yesterday we heard of towns who are waiting for a pastor. Somebody needs to hear that and respond.

Hugo and Idaí pastor a new work in Mexico City, but also have a huge burden for Hidalgo.
Our eyes are open to those realities because you have sent us. We hear of the need because you have sent us. We have so many opportunities to respond because you have sent us.
Every…single…day…we give thanks for your faithfulness to us. May all our hearts continue to be broken and encouraged.
